News in Ethiris Mobile 5.152

Kentima has released a new version of Ethiris Mobile for Android and iOS. Ethiris Mobile is an app that connects to one or more Ethiris VMS to display live and recorded video.

The new version includes support for two-factor authentication (2FA), which an administrator can require when logging in to Ethiris VMS 15.2 or later.

The app supports Ethiris Server 9.0 (stand-alone server) or later, including the latest version 15.2.

For iOS, Ethiris Mobile supports iOS 13.0 or later, including iOS 17.1, which is currently the latest version.

For Android, Ethiris Mobile supports Android 8.0 or later, including the current version Android 14.0.

Ethiris Mobile 5.152 is available on the App store and Google Play from now on.

Support for 2FA
As of Ethiris VMS 15.2, the administrator of the system can require that the users who are going to log in to the system use two-factor authentication. For Ethiris VMS, this means that the user must enter a username and password as well as a so-called OTP (One Time Password).

OTP is generated through an authentication app such as Microsoft Authenticator, but there are several different options. For information on how to register your Ethiris Server in the authentication app, see the news brochure for Ethiris VMS 15.2 on pages 4-5.

When logging in to Ethiris Mobile, to an Ethiris Server that requires 2FA, a field for OTP is displayed in the login dialog.

So, in addition to the username and password, a six-digit one-time code must also be entered. This code changes every 30 seconds and Ethiris Server accepts plus or minus two codes, so it is important that the clocks in the different units are correct for it to work.

NB! Ethiris Mobile currently only supports stand-alone servers, i.e. not Ethiris Cluster.
