Ethiris VMS prevents crime
on construction sites

To reduce the risk of burglary and vandalism at several construction sites, the Norwegian company Alarmlink AS uses Kentima’s Ethiris ACS (Alarm Central Services). The solution has been successful and has led to several legal penalties.

AS Betongbygg in Norway is a versatile construction and engineering company that concentrates its operations in Østfold, Akershus and the Oslo area.

They regularly purchase services from Kentima via Alarmlink AS, which supplies IVA solutions to construction sites, among other places.

IVA solution (Intelligent Video Analysis) is an innovative technology that combines artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision to not only record, but also understand and analyse video data in real time. It offers a range of opportunities for companies to improve operational efficiency, maximise return on investment and increase security.

One of the shipments went to the construction of the modern Kvartal 273 area in Sarpsborg, where the total construction area amounts to 10, 000 square metres divided between commercial premises, apartments, gyms and restaurants.

With the Ethiris ACS, the facility receives professional surveillance with the option of loudspeaker announcements and security guard dispatch. Through automatic connection of relevant video, the alarm operator is able to respond instantly to intrusions and other incidents. So far, seven attempted break-ins have been prevented, with security guards from Quality Security and the police successfully apprehending several of the individuals involved.

Ethiris ACS (Alarm Central Services) allows customers to connect their Ethiris VMS/NVR system to an alarm centre for monitoring their facilities. This solution, together with alarm transmission to Safe4’s alarm centre, works very well.

Ethiris ACS is ideal for this type of facility as it is a subscription-based service billed quarterly. Ethiris VMS has broad camera support via ONVIF, which means that customers can choose the camera or cameras that best suit the task at hand.

Kentima has been collaborating with the Safe4 alarm centre in Norway for some time now to offer 24/7 monitoring of Ethiris VMS/NVR facilities by professional alarm operators. During the construction of Kvartal 273 in Sarpsborg, thermal cameras were used to generate alarms in Ethiris VMS, which were immediately processed by the operator at Safe4. With Ethiris Server, four cameras, a loudspeaker and a wireless burglar alarm, a number of attempted break-ins have been prevented. AS Betongbygg is very satisfied and will continue to use the solution in several projects going forward.
