Robertsfors VA facility is monitored by WideQuick WWT

Together with Industriprojektbyrån i Norr AB, Robertsfors Municipality has implemented WideQuick HMI/SCADA with the WideQuick Water and Wastewater Treatment concept for monitoring and controlling various water treatment facilities.

When Robertsfors Municipality, a coastal municipality in Västerbotten, Sweden, needed to replace its existing HMI/SCADA system for water and wastewater management, it requested a comprehensive solution that would not only improve operations and reduce costs, but also enable future up-scaling of the system as new needs and requirements arise.

The municipality faced several challenges with its existing system. Therefore, a new system was needed that would be more cost-effective and include several new features to optimise and ensure the operation of water and wastewater services. WideQuick HMI/SCADA with the Water and Wastewater Treatment (WWT) concept met all the requirements that the municipality had for its new system.

Industriprojektbyrån i Norr AB (IPB Norr) is a partner of Kentima and an automation company primarily focused on industry, particularly the water and wastewater sector. They carry out turnkey projects, leveraging expertise from suppliers to create a strong, competent and efficient project organisation.

In the Robertsfors project, Kentima and WideQuick HMI/SCADA with the WWT concept were chosen. IPB Norr has also been one of the BETA testers and has worked closely with Kentima during the development period to ensure that the concept is as well suited as possible to the industry and its requirements.

"I know what Kentima and their pro-ducts are capable of, and once again, the result was fantastic with great customer value!”, says Thomas Emet, Project Manager, Industriprojektbyrån i Norr AB.

With today’s increased demands on purification processes and water management, municipalities and companies need modern and flexible solutions that can meet the specific needs of each facility, while improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.

The WWT concept was developed to meet these challenges in water and wastewater management and is based on the WideQuick Modular Framework (MOD) which can function as both an HMI and SCADA system.

With the help of both basic and specialised modules, it facilitates monitoring, control and reporting for various treatment processes. In Robertsfors Municipality, this includes treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, pumping stations and pressure boosting stations. The system is in operation and will be expanded, developed and enhanced as required.

"When Industriprojektbyrån introduced WideQuick WWT to us, we saw great potential in the system to meet today’s needs and put us in a good position for future challenges.”, says Jon Larsson, GVA engineer, Robertsfors Kommun.

With the basic functions in WideQuick Water and Wastewater Treatment, development is optimised when new facilities are added, while the end user can go in and cust-omise their system themselves.

Employees at IPB Norr have attended several of Kentima’s training courses, including WideQuick Basic and WideQuick Script.
– After the training, we felt that we could do most things in the system ourselves, and with the help of support, it has bee quick and the results are perfect! Kentima has both development, manufacturing and support in-house in Sweden, which is unusual today, concludes Thomas.
