Optimises energy efficient with
WideQuick BMS SCADA

Automationsbolaget Sverige AB regularly optimises the energy efficiency of Sala Municipality with smart solutions from Kentima. The municipality required a reliable and scalable system to control energy consumption and reduce power peaks in the property stock.

Automationsbolaget Sverige AB, a part of Instalco, is a company with long experience in Building Automation. Instalco is one of the Nordic region’s leading installation companies in plumbing, electricity, ventilation, cooling and industry and consists of a cohesive group of companies, with strong local roots and long industry experience. Operations are conducted through local, specialised subsidiaries. Together, they carry out design, installation, service and maintenance of properties and facilities in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Sala Municipality wanted a superior system to control energy consumption and room temperatures, among other things. But also in the future be able to scale up, expand and add desired functionality such as forecast control and power limitations.

Salabostäder AB has existed for over 70 years and is a limited company with Sala municipality as the sole owner, the facility consists of approximately 2,800 apartments and rental properties.

Automationsbolaget, which is a partner of Kentima, presented the WideQuick BMS SCADA building concept to fulfil the mu-nicipality’s needs and requirements. The municipality chose the solution and now WideQuick SCADA (Supervisor Control And Data Acquisition) Premium, built with the building automation concept (BMS), is used for 55 connected control systems in municipal properties, schools and sports centres. Furthermore, WideQuick BMS SCADA is used for the large stock of rental properties. Everything is connected via SAIA with more than 65 subcentres and fans WideQuick provides a clear overview of all properties included in the monitoring system.

In WideQuick BMS SCADA, you can create common views, present common alarm lists and history, and use other functions such as map functions, several different widgets, alarm and event analysis, reports, key figure follow-up and more.

These are important building blocks that are ideal for facilities like these, where the aim is to make property stock and to be able to easily get fast troubleshooting if something breaks or stops. It has become easy to control total energy consumption when you can control the temperatures in each property. The system takes into account weather changes, as well as the average temperature in the flats and adjusts to meet the change even before the forecast outcome.

Recently, hot water prioritisation has been tested together with Sala-Heby Energi, which means that the supply temperature to the radiator circuit is reduced when there is a large withdrawal of hot water. As one of the largest customers of Sala-Heby Energi, being able to cut energy peaks helps to save un-necessary costs, especially for tenants.

The goal is to have 100% metering in all properties in order to further improve efficiency further for less environmental impact and reduced energy consumption.
