Launch of WideQuick BMS 8.0

2022-02-24

WideQuick HMI/SCADA/PSIM We have launched a new version of our popular concept within building automation. With the WideQuick Building Management System (BMS), we offer the market the most complete system for monitoring properties and entire property portfolio.

With WideQuick BMS 8.0, we are consolidating our position as a market-leading company in this segment. WideQuick BMS should be the obvious alternative for system integrators, consultants, property owners and property managers. The new version, gives the property owner an even greater opportunity to effectively monitor their properties, everything from individual properties to entire property portfolio.

WideQuick BMS consists of three different basic projects with associated object libraries: WideQuick HVAC HMI, WideQuick BMS HMI and WideQuick BMS SCADA. All of the basic projects, with associated object libraries, are available for download on our partner pages.

WideQuick BMS contains a large number of new, attractive and useful features for system integrators, property technicians and property owners. The list of new functions can be made long and further down in the newsletter you can read more about the most important news.

News in WideQuick BMS SCADA 8.0
Flexible system architecture
WideQuick BMS SCADA can now communicate directly with locally located PLCs and, as before, also communicate with locally located operator units with WideQuick BMS HMI.

Central function for sending alarm events via e-mail
When an alarm occurs, WideQuick BMS SCADA can send an e-mail message to selected recipients. The alarm event can originate from systems embedded in WideQuick BMS SCADA (i.e. systems where WideQuick BMS SCADA communicates directly to a local PLC) or from WideQuick BMS HMI systems running in a locally located operator panel. The feature uses the new email feature launched in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.0.
WideQuick BMS SCADA can now be run as a service

The WideQuick HMI/SCADA software has previously been able to run as a service, but now we have configured WideQuick BMS SCADA so that it can run without a GUI in WideQuick Runtime. It is possible to connect several clients to WideQuick BMS SCADA, both WideQuick Remote Client and WideQuick Web Client.

New report function
WideQuick BMS SCADA contains a completely new reporting function with three ready-to-use report templates for energy reporting: weekly report, monthly/annual report and a report to compare energy consumption in different properties. The reports can be created manually or automatically and sent to selected recipients via e-mail.
The system integrator can create customized report templates
There are now great opportunities for system integrators to design their own customized report templates according to the property owner's requirements and wishes. This is possible because we are now using the new reporting feature that we launched in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.0.
The tree view is updated
The tree view has been given a better structure where the properties are placed in sub-nodes according to each region and city. We have also introduced a connection between the tree view and the map object, which means that the selected property in the tree view is marked in the map.
Examples of other news
  • Our weather forecast widget now uses the new bar chart that we launched in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.0.
  • We have updated the design for the header/footer. A new button for the report function and a new design of the buttons, in addition, the button for logging in has been placed at the top right of the header.
  • There is now only one Main view. The project scales back to the size of the screen and is no longer dependent on the screen resolution.
  • WideQuick BMS SCADA utilizes all optimizations introduced in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.2, which means that significantly more properties can be connected to the system.

News in WideQuick BMS HMI 8.0
More flexible tag structure
We have introduced a more flexible tag structure. The purpose of a more flexible tag structure in WideQuick BMS HMI and WideQuick BMS SCADA is to give the system integrator the opportunity to present information coming from several physical objects together in a logical object in the user interface, while the tag names in WideQuick can follow the same structure as in PLC/DUC.
New e-mail function

The new e-mail function in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.0 has been implemented in WideQuick BMS HMI.

New event list
The new event list in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.2 has been implemented in WideQuick BMS HMI.
New opportunities to add users and change passwords
It is now possible to add users and change users' passwords via WideQuick Remote Client and WideQuick Web Client.
View information from other operator units
There is a new feature that allows the user to, from the WideQuick BMS HMI system currently in use, easily connect and remotely use another WideQuick BMS HMI system located in another property. By using the function, the user gets access to all WideQuick BMS HMI systems that are located in the facility's various properties.
Connect to WideQuick BMS SCADA from any operator panel
From a locally located WideQuick BMS HMI system in an operator panel, the user can remotely connect and use WideQuick BMS SCADA. Via the HTML object in WideQuick, the user gets access to all the functions in WideQuick BMS SCADA and thereby access to other WideQuick BMS HMI systems that are located in the facility's various properties.
Examples of other news
  • The new version of WideQuick BMS HMI uses the built-in dialogs for logging in and out of the WideQuick Web Client.
  • There is now only one Main view and the project scales back to the size of the screen and is no longer dependent on the screen resolution.
  • By default, WideQuick BMS offers two different navigation pages, the navigation wheel or buttons placed in different columns.
  • WideQuick BMS HMI utilizes all the optimizations introduced in WideQuick HMI/SCADA 12.2.
