WideQuick monitors hotel and conference facility

Sånga-Säby Hotell & Konferens is located scenically in the countryside by the shore of the big lake Mälaren, just 35 kilometers from Stockholm City. The Swedish company Energikontroll Styr & Regler ESR AB has installed a safe and user-friendly superior system using Kentima's HMI panels and WideQuick SCADA.

There are several buildings containing 143 rooms with a total of 264 beds, conference rooms and a large restaurant with a newly renovated kitchen.

The existing SCADA system needed to be replaced as it was insufficient, expensive and difficult to maintain. The work on the conference facility began with Energikontroll Styr & Regler ESR AB installing a new CODESYS-based control system together with Kentimas WideQuick SCADA.

The goal was a well-functioning HMI/SCADA system, easy to maintain and that it can help the plant to continue to be one of Sweden's most energy efficient meeting places. The operating staff get a good overview of the plant without having to work with different subsystems and it also contributes to a better overall economy.

The Swedish company LABKYL AB has installed one of their first DLE CO2 heat pumps of its kind in Sweden to replace existing oil boilers as a sustainable energy source. This facility was provided with WideQuick SCADA Panel as local HMI that was integrated into the superior system.

In addition to monitoring substations, solar panels, heat pumps and air handling units, there are smart wireless room monitoring with overview via floor plans. The operating staff receives information about, for example, open windows.

Energy efficiency is important for Sånga-Säby and they are also self-sufficient with, among other things, their own water plant and sewage plant. This system is critical for the facility, as well as the surrounding area, and requires daily supervision and immediate action in case of problems. The water and sewage plants are now integrated with WideQuick SCADA and is easily managed in the SCADA system. The relaxation facility is also integrated into WideQuick SCADA, with water quality control and remote control/scheduling of the sauna.

Kentimas WideQuick HMI/SCADA Panel and WideQuick HMI/SCADA Box are part of an entire system for creating different types of monitoring applications with associated user interface and communication with external devices. WideQuick, developed by Kentima, is a software for creating HMI-, SCADA- or PSIM applications and it forms the basis of all operator units from Kentima.

Adaptability and user-friendly are important features for WideQuick. It should be easy to create a cost-effective monitoring system. The applications are almost endless thanks to the built-in flexibility, all built-in features and wide offer of communication.
