WideQuick HMI/SCADA Surveilles Chemical Production

WideQuick and Ethiris are used at Stockholm Royal Seaport

Feralco Nordic AB is a leading manufacturer of high quality chemical products for water treatment and for the pulp and paper industry. To surveille and control their process, they use WideQuick HMI/SCADA from Kentima.

Feralco Nordic AB is one of the largest manufacturers in Europe when it comes to coagulants for water treatment. They manufacture and sell chemicals for water treatment for drinking water, sewage water and industrial water for municipals, pulp and paper industry as well as other process industry in Northern Europe.

Feralco’s vision is to combine this with strategies to implement new patented technologies to satisfy the always more stringent requirements of modern industry. As Feralco in Sölvesborg was expanding, they needed to get a complement to their existing products and got in contact with Kentima and their software WideQuick HMI/SCADA, which is used for creating superior surveillance systems. Kentima’s partner, Sigma Industry South AB, was assigned the task to implement the system at Feralco, and today Feralco uses WideQuick HMI/SCADA for surveillance and to control their chemical production. Kentima’s products are perfect for their operation and the security aspect of the production increases.

WideQuick Designer always accompanies WideQuick HMI/SCADA and is the development tool in which the project is created. WideQuick is a flexible system and can via OPC and Modbus communicate with a large number of different PLC systems, in this case, Mitsubishi. As a customer, this provides comfort and many options, since you don’t get tied up in case you would like to complement and expand your system further.

It’s not only the flexibility in WideQuick that Feralco wants to highlight, but also that WideQuick makes the work of the staff much easier and creates better control of the operation. At Feralco, approximately 10 process operators use the system.
