WideQuick SCADA Panel - makes building automation to a simple match

Nordomatic AB has installed two WideQuick SCADA Panel, H517, at the new complex Arenahotellet in Uppsala. The hotel is located at Gränby sports field with a specific focus on sports. For the project, a unique concept for template workviews has been developed as a further development of Kentima´s object library for building automation.

The company Energikontroll Styr & Regler ESR AB has programmed two WideQuick SCADA Panel, H517. The work included ongoing support with the design of tag structure and deployment together with Nordomatic AB. Arenahotellet - is the ideal choice for private guests, athletes, sports training, event visitors and as a meeting place for associations, clubs, societies, teams and companies.


”Really fast and easy to add and create new features when you see that something is needed for commissioning”, says Jakob Lindh, Automation Engineer, Nordomatic AB.


The hotel is designed with prefabricated hotel rooms including high quality furnishing and bathrooms. It is a rationally industrialized construction with thoughtful systems and technical installations for e.g. air and heat which are energy efficient and integrated for optimal control and interactive dynamic recovery.
All guests are welcome, but since the building took its first form in the architect’s computer, it has been focused on adapting the house to active athletes. In total, the hotel contains 200 rooms with 620 beds. Each corridor is associated with a sport. For example is one corridor adapted for athletes in wheelchairs and another for basketball players with extra long beds.

A modern property like Arenahotellet puts great demands on the system that will be used for building automation, not least on the monitoring software. The choice fell on Kentima’s WideQuick SCADA and the software was delivered pre-installed on two 17” WideQuick SCADA Panel.

Nordomatic AB has together with Energikontroll Styr & Regler ESR AB developed the concept and developed template workviews based on Kentima’s object library and demo for building automation. This has reduced the number of workviews from 30 to 7, since multiple systems are equal. In this way, an already fast and efficient way of working has been even more efficient and created new opportunities for reuse and quick maintenance of the facility.
