Ethiris VMS 15.0 – Ethiris SDK complete

The new version of Ethiris VMS contains a complete version of the Ethiris SDK for deep integration with other systems. Please download our brochure describing this and all other news in Ethiris VMS 15.0. Below is a brief overview of what's new.

In this version, we have continued to work with Ethiris SDK and can now present a complete SDK with support for all important functions available in Ethiris VMS. This means that all systems that support .Net can get built-in advanced video functionality via the Ethiris SDK.

Ethiris Mobile is a free app for Android and iOS that can be used to monitor your camera system remotely. For the Android version, we have now introduced decoding of video directly in the app. This means that the load on Ethiris Server is reduced and that more cameras can be displayed simultaneously via the app with a given hardware for Ethiris Server.

Read on to find out more about these and several other news in Ethiris 15.0.

Complete SDK
Now Ethiris SDK contains all expected functionality and has since the previous version been expanded with, among other things, the following:

• Complete handling of recorded video, including backwards playback.
• Full support for multiple ViewerControl for both live and recorded video. The same camera can be displayed in multiple CameraView at the same time.
• Complete status indicators in CameraView for e.g. communication errors.
• Audio output support.
• Support for exporting video and audio to Ethiris native export format for up to 9 cameras simultaneously. Multiple export jobs can be started and managed automatically with a queue.
• Support for digital PTZ in live.
• Support for dewarping 360 cameras.
• Support for various zoom commands in all contexts.
• Updated SDK demo example.

Ethiris Mobile for Android
With decoding for H.264, H.265 and MPEG-4 directly in the app Ethiris Mobile for Android, more cameras can be displayed in mobiles at the same time with a given hardware where Ethiris Server is running. Previously, decoding of these video compression formats took place in Ethiris Server before the video was forwarded to the mobile and it burdened Ethiris Server heavily. Now there will be a dramatically reduced load on Ethiris Server compared to before.

High-resolution cameras
The development is extremely fast and the most high-resolution network cameras today have a resolution of over 30 Mpixel. To take into account high-resolution cameras today and in the future, we have updated and tested Ethiris VMS to handle cameras with a resolution of up to 200 MPixel.

Updated video management
With the latest library from ImmerVision for dewarping, Ethiris VMS is equipped for the newest models of 360 cameras with ImmerVision's Fisheye lenses. With the help of dewarping in Ethiris VMS, the user can pan, tilt and zoom in both live and recorded video in a so-called 360-video stream that covers 360 degrees of an area.

In addition, we have updated the video decoding library in Ethiris VMS to increase performance and support the latest graphics cards in connection with hardware-accelerated video decoding.

Scripting improvements
Stored procedures in a database can provide many benefits, such as increased performance and security. They can also simplify the interface from an application to the database by allowing complex database queries to be hidden within the stored procedure.

In version 15.0 of Ethiris VMS, we have expanded the possibilities via scripts to now also include invocation of stored procedures directly on the database object.
