WideQuick and Ethiris are used in Helsingborg city

The alarm centre in the Municipality of Helsingborg is one of many satisfied customers who have combined Kentima's Ethiris and WideQuick software applications to attain secure and effective video surveillance. When an alarm is received, quick action must be taken and the right decisions made.

There are approximately 15 Ethiris Server installed at various locations in Helsingborg, together with a large number of cameras that continuously supervise the city. Some of the cameras are thermal cameras which react to heat, for instance when a fire occurs. 

When an alarm is triggered, the location is indicated on a map and the system automatically displays information about the location. All cameras of relevance to the operator are marked and live video is displayed. In this way, the operator quickly gains access to information that facilitates decision-making in critical situations. The WideQuick application view is projected as a 3x2-metre image in the control room. In Ethiris, the operator can observe recorded video. The recorded video is then displayed in Ethiris Client. With the Ethiris Client/Server architecture, the customer has a possibility of placing desired number of clients in different locations. All 15 facilities can also be centrally administrated.

WideQuick is a general surveillance application that has also been developed for the tough processing industries with high demands on reliability and stable communications. It is easy to integrate the software with other systems, and in WideQuick there are ready-to-use modules with advanced alarm functions, statistics management, logging, database communications, vector-based graphics and scripting functions.

This provides the users great security and the installer gains nearly unlimited capabilities in creating a surveillance management system according to the customer's needs.

Ethiris is powerful software for video surveillance that is flexible and easy to integrate with other systems. Through its scalable and flexible structure, application areas for Ethiris range from small installations to, as in this case, surveillance of entire cities.
