Ethiris Secures Transports For DSV in Landskrona
With Kentima´s superior software for video surveillance, DSV in Landskrona is in complete control of their transports and the large number of loadings that occur. There are 204 cameras connected to Ethiris Video Management Software to cover the area of 400 000m2 and the 700 trucks that pass through the gates every day.
DSV is a transport company that has offices in more than 70 countries worldwide, and in Landskrona at the Swedish Head Office, 540 people are working. DSV uses Ethiris VMS for surveillance in real-time, but also for alarm and history logging. The history function helps them to quickly find a specific event in connection to e.g. claim arrends. The work is facilitated with the help of the function Smart Search in Ethiris. It means that one can mask parts of an image to be able to do a search within a limited area. It is very useful, for instance, when searching for an object and tracking what time the object has been removed from a location.”Ethiris is a system which is very easy to understand and has an uncomplicated interface. The search function is the function that we have the most need for and that I use a lot myself”, Tomas Heurlin, Property Manager DSV in Landskrona points out.
The cameras are placed to surveille the entrace and exit, storage area, goods halls and the ports into the goods halls. The terminal and the storage facilities are huge, 85 000 m2, and to be able to get the best view possible, without having the staff to move physically across the large area, Ethiris is connected in several different locations.
At first, DSV in Landskrona got in contact with Kentima´s products in 2010 through a procurement with one of Kentima´s partners who considered Ethiris to be the software best suited for DSV. It was of great importance to DSV that the supplier´s software was able to fulfill to their demands. It was crucial that there was diversity in the software and flexiblility to enable connection of different camera manufacturers. It should work as a sustainable over-all solution and one of Ethris´absolute strengths is that the software is extremely easy to integrate with other systems. The scalability of the software means that the capacity of a facility can increase seamlessly without the end user notising it.
