Arctic Paper in Grycksbo chose Ethiris NVRN Rack Solutions to monitor their manufacturing processes and improve the physical security of the facility. The complete solution was developed by Göthes Säkerhet AB and Elektroskandia Sverige AB in close co-operation with Kentima.

One of Arctic Paper’s three paper mills, founded in 1740, is located in Grycksbo, Falu municipality. It produces high quality coated graphic paper under the G and Arctic Volume brands. The facility has almost 340 employees and an annual production capacity of around 220,000 tonnes.

A new video surveillance system was needed when the previous surveillance system was outdated and the image quality poor. To develop an optimal solution, Göthes Säkerhet AB was contacted, a partner of Kentima, which designs and installs total security solutions.

Göthes Säkerhet works primarily with the installation of access control systems, intruder alarms and video surveillance. It is often a question of tailor-made complete solutions. To get help with developing a suitable solution, Elektroskandia Sverige AB was contacted.

Elektroskandia is one of Sweden’s leading electrical and technology wholesalers, part of the Sonepark Group with 44,000 employees in 40 countries and a large network of high-quality suppliers.

Elektroskandia, Göthes Säkerhet and Kentima jointly reviewed the conditions for developing a new, modern, customised and reliable solution for Arctic Paper. The new system is based on Ethiris NVRN Rack Solutions, which significantly simplifies the work for the system integrator to put together a complete, robust and well-tested video surveillance system.

Arctic Paper has five stations from which they can monitor the facility via the camera system. Virtual buttons are set up in the operator’s interface to easily open and close gates, for example.

The facility has a large number of cameras, of different brands and with a wide geographical spread. Therefore, a reliable platform for managing the cameras is required that is open and can receive data from all camera brands, something Ethiris VMS solves without problems.

In large mission-critical facilities, where a large number of cameras are required to cover the need for video surveillance, it is important that the central equipment that will manage all video is stable and well thought out.

All components such as NVRN devices, switches, NAS and UPS must be carefully selected and optimally configured to achieve the best results.

Ethiris VMS is a scalable software that can easily be expanded with new functionality and additional cameras. It is a modern, high-quality system with excellent image rendering and recording capabilities.

Ethiris Cluster is a built-in standard feature in the Premium license level that ensures the facility maintains full capacity even if one or more Ethiris Servers go down.

Ethiris VMS has extensive camera support, more than 20,000 camera models that give the end customer great freedom to choose the best cameras for the task at hand.

Ethiris NVRN Rack Solutions are available in three different series with a total of 26 different models and are dimensioned for between 32 - 2,000 cameras.
