A hit with OE Industrial Computers
Odin Target AB continuously installs Kentima OE industrial computers at shooting ranges used by special forces within the police and defence forces. The OE300 and OE500 series were chosen for their robustness, reliability and high quality, which enable them to meet the tough and demanding requirements set by both the integrator and the end customer.
Odin Target, founded in 1917, has had its current focus since 2005, when it set its sights on designing, constructing and delivering full-scale shooting ranges for both Swedish special forces and other law enforcement agencies. When the police and armed forces need to build or upgrade shooting ranges around the country, Odin Target is often hired. With cutting-edge expertise and many years of experience in the design and construction of shooting ranges and related products, they are one of the sharpest companies on the market. To ensure that the finished product is fully optimised for the end customer, Odin Target carefully selects high-quality suppliers and products. Odin Target installs Kentima’s products in new installations or upgrades where monitors from other manufacturers need to be replaced.
"I am very satisfied with Kentima’s industrial computers and the benefits they bring to us and our customers. They are stable products that you can really rely on;, says Peter Norman, CEO & Sales Manager, Odin Target AB.
The panels from Kentima are used to successfully control electronic target boards that the shooters must hit. Odin Target has standard software that is used in the panels, with some modifications depending on the electronic target in question. The technology is used to make training as dynamic and effective as possible. The software is used to create the desired scenarios, and the target can be programmed to accelerate, brake or change direction, among other things. The user can also actively choose which manoeuvres the targets should perform. The manoeuvre is executed immediately thanks to the direct response of the touch screen.
The target boards, which can rotate 180 degrees, rotate in less than 0.2 seconds and can be controlled in groups or individually. The different target boards can be combined for more dynamic training, all controlled via the industrial computers.
The absolute advantage of Kentima’s OE321 and OE521 for these projects is that the panels do not display any unnecessary apps that interfere with the programme, meaning that the design is completely clean. Size was an important factor in the choice of industrial computer, and with their high brightness, Kentima’s 21.5’ industrial computers were the obvious choice. Odin Target uses two models from Kentima’s wide product range, depending on whether the facility is indoors or outdoors.
The OE321 is designed for use when an attractive and durable wall-mounted unit is required. With its sleek, simple and modern design, the panel is also ideal for public spaces, such as in this case indoors on a rolling podium.
The OE521 is a passively cooled industrial computer with no moving parts, i.e. no fan or moving storage media, with solid performance. The model is designed for use when high-performance, durable industrial computers are required. They have chosen to place these in an outdoor cabinet at the shooting ranges.
